Flossing
Many people hate to floss. They say that it hurts and makes their gums bleed. A Cambridge Dentist says that this is very normal when first starting to floss. The gums are weak and need a little bit of time to get used to the floss. Flossing is a great way to clean in between the teeth and remove those germs and bacteria the bristles on the tooth brush couldn’t reach. Make sure to floss every day.
If after the first or second week of flossing the gums are still bleeding make sure to talk to a dentist. After that, the gums should be more than strong enough to continue flossing on a daily basis. Flossing is more than just sticking a piece of string between the teeth, it is a way of scrubbing the plaque off of the sides of them. Going under the gum line is a great way to protect the gum from gum disease and other oral diseases.
The Cambridge dentist says that while brushing is considered by many to be the most important part of a good oral health, flossing is just as important and should be done on a daily basis just like brushing. If one is willing to take the time to floss on a daily basis, it is almost impossible to have cavities or other oral disease. Make sure to floss every day.
